It is the fifth time that the International Triennal ARTAPESTRY shows a very updated selection of what is happening in today's weaving. Textile artists work very widely in these years and experiment with the many visual expressions that lie in the art, both in terms of subjects and themes. Some work with almost photographic representations, while others explore and paraphrase folkloristic motives, and others work abstractly with the material and colors.

Although woven fabrics are naturally the most prevalent, including jacquard weaving, there are also more experimental approaches to the work with textiles that challenge the materials and their usual composition.

There are 40 works on display, which are selected by a three-person jury representing the ETF-European Tapestry Forum. The works are selected from 118 submitted. Particularly prized was Pawel Kielpinski's work "Steel" which was the most outstanding.

The exhibition continues to Kulturcentrum Ronneby in Sweden, Mark Rothko Art Center, Daugavpils in Latvia and the ARAD Museum of Art in Romania. 

Events in connection with the exhibition.During the exhibition period there will be public tours with weaver Anne Mette Larsen on 27 January, 24 February and 31 March. All days at 13.00. And lecture by weave and art historian Ulrikka Mokdad 1 March at 19.00
