The purpose of the place is to convey insight and views on visual art.

We focus primarily on the art that today's generations of artists create.

At the same time, we talk about the history of the spa and are aware that the attraction has the character of an excursion destination for many people who want to be inspired and take a walk in the green.

The name "Art Centre Silkeborg Bad" reflects both the past and the present. The independent institution was founded in 1992 on a local initiative. We live in rent in several of the buildings that once constituted Silkeborg Vandkuranstalt, later Silkeborg Bad. Silkeborg Municipality owns the buildings and provides subsidies to Kunstcenter Silkeborg Bad. We have a close collaboration.

A staff of 13 full-time employees is responsible for the daily operation and development of both art dissemination, the park area, café offerings and much more. In addition, 70 volunteers are engaged on site.
